These designs inspired by Nepali folk instruments aim to educate young Nepalese about their folk instruments, and the importance of such instruments to the country’s identity. It embraces musical heritage as wearable statements of style.
Baja showcases wearable jewelry inspired by the folk instrument of three categories – arbajo, a string instrument; bansuri, a wind instrument; and maadal, a percussion instrument. The jewelry design uses important parts of the instrument to create an abstract style. Along with ceramic, I have used mixed-medium to enhance my design process.
