Tales of Ink

People have told me many fascinating tales and myths about tattoos throughout my career as a tattoo artist. Some believe tattoos protect against evil spirits, while others claim that tattoos once prevented despot kings from abducting young girls. Some exalt tattoos as the only possessions you take to the grave with you. And others believe that one can even sell tattoos off one’s body to buy passage to heaven.
My work revolves around these tales and myths – metaphors for the value of tattoos and reasons for their presence.
