Bajai ko Phool

It was only during the pandemic that I noticed my grandmother’s passion and practice towards flowers and plantation. I found her passion similar to mine for painting, and I began painting her flowers during the lockdown. I could not imagine these flowers in any other way than blooming and being cared for so perfectly. These last few months my grandparents had work outside the valley so they traveled back and forth a lot. During their absence, I noticed that the flowers and plants that she had cared for and worked hard on were dying. No matter how much we watered them on time, they still kept dying. ‘Bajai ko Phool’ is a series of encaustic paintings. These paintings present my grandmother’s passion and the absence of which when she had to leave them.
