Amidst the hustle and bustle of my joint family, I see marks and scuffs, palm prints and tika smears growing silently and gradually on various walls and nooks of my home. Sometimes they go unnoticed as they grow, because it takes tens and hundreds of movements and emotions layered in the same place, over and over again, over a long time, for them to catch our attention. The presence of these marks signifies their invisible presence in and support to our daily lives. Therefore, these marks grow, constant and subtle.
My practice attempts to find moments that reflect the continuous release from our conscious and subconscious habits. They capture the changes that must have occurred in our lifestyle and our behaviors during the making of these marks. The manner in which they assert their vitality and presence in the life of a home is mark-able!
