Woodblock Printing Kit: Few motifs from Kathmandu Valley

My first memory of leaving marks on a canvas comes from the day when I held my grandmother’s hand with its needle-tattoo design. As a Manandhar with roots in Thahiti, I grew up surrounded by traditional architecture and art forms, rituals and public spaces that created a sense of belonging and wellbeing. With this project, I have tried to capture that sense of wellbeing, to pass it on to the next generation so that they may enjoy its unique value.

My design studio, Hyami, aims to revive the fading beauty of traditional artworks around us, which our ancestors have bequeathed to us. Hyami translates cultural identity into a new graphic language and functional designs that bear your personal creative mark, and be uniquely yours forever.
