My mother enjoys working. She starts her day with purpose, hope and belief. Every inch and every gap in her stitches has to be perfect. She believes that one should give one’s hundred percent while working. She maintains the energy throughout the day, every day. Her each step is not just for herself – it includes each of us in the family in return. She wants her daughters to be by her side to support her. That inspires me and makes me wonder why a mother’s love is so pure.

In this series of photographs of my mother, I attempt to get closer to her and cherish her simplicity. The time spent creating this series has provided me with the opportunity to converse with her, to know her better. The women of my mother’s generation live with greater patience and resilience than mine. I hope that these photographs make it possible for my generation to take hope from the strength of my mother’s generation as one more generous gift received from motherhood.
